A major financial organisation had been progressing a number of Human Resource projects that were based on the delivery of functionality provided by the SAP HR module in order for business benefits to be achieved. These projects resulted in a range of critical none delivery and support failure issues. This serious business situation was picked up by Pentam with a urgent need to re-establish a delivery capability and customer confidence. Our scope included all technical project and support activities that were needed to supply an HR Service to 70,000 colleges.

To resolve the situation we worked with the business customers to clarify project and service requirements, increased the project management capability with a programme office and dedicated planning capability, established a service review process and increased the level of communication with customers and senior managers. This strengthened governance, assurance and delivery organisation resulted in all project objectives being achieved and service delivery moving down the priority list from a critical business issue to "business as usual".

As confidence in the service and project delivery capability grew, Pentam recommended a permanent management structure and facilitated its establishment prior to completing the assignment. This enabled the programme to continue and successfully deliver it's targets for colleague recruitment and reduction in HR support costs.
